Mikado Sushi
Take away bag, 2025


During my intern at Base Design, I was asked to create the design for the takeaway bags of Mikado Sushi a Sushi restaurant based in Geneva. The only direction I was given was to work in black and white. I researched the restaurant, sushi culture, and Japanese visual aesthetics. Inspired by this research, I created a composition using vector-based forms influenced by manga graphics and elements of Japanese visual culture. The design is built around overlapping shapes and layered compositions to create a dynamic visual effect on the bags. 
I also chose a typeface inspired by Japanese characters, which complemented the design.
